The study of Regional Analysis and Public Policy (RAPP) at M.S.U. combines information and methods from diverse fields to help understand the culture, government and physical environment of the unique Appalachian Region that M.S.U. serves. It seeks to clarify and understand how natural and man-made systems and location affect the lives and communities of people in specific places. From the perspective of regional analysis, problems, potentials, opportunities, and everyday life are seen from the context of neighborhood, community, county, and region. Regional analysis examines problems and issues from these contexts and to develop strategies and specific programs to address these problems and enhance the welfare of a region's people.
